Developing oracy skills

Effective oracy skills can help pupils to express themselves clearly, engage in meaningful conversations, and succeed in a variety of academic and social situations.

“Taking oracy education seriously is perhaps the most powerful thing a teacher can do to positively impact the life chances of their pupils.” (Oracy Cambridge, 2020).

With this last quote in mind, we believe that children should be encouraged to develop their speaking skills by talking regularly in a range of different contexts.

From class assemblies and school shows to poetry slams and community projects, we aim to ensure that children 'have a voice'.
